A Timely Turn to the Lawyer? Globalisierung und die Anglo-Amerikanisierung von Recht und Rechtsberufen - Essays,
From a global perspective the legal process in the past three decades has been increasingly influenced and determined by globalization. American law and American legal culture have had an important and decisive influence on this process of internationalization from the outset. Until now, the effects of the increasingly globalized legal process on the situation and activity of international lawyers have not been observed, examined and described intensively in academic.

All of the 20 essays contained in the book have been written and partially published between the years of 1998 and 2008. The basic research and a part of the writing has been done during the annual research stays in fall terms at the European Law Research Centre of Harvard Law School in the years of 1999 as well as from 2003 to 2008. The essays deal across the board with primary experiences of the author as senior partner of a large commercial law firm in mandates, as an academic teacher in courses and seminars as well as a planner of international studies programs in law in university and a consultant to law firms and legal dispute mentor of multinational enterprises.
The aim of the publication is, to shed more light on these issues which are because of their actuality are of an importance way beyond the legal process. The focus of the book, in particular of the extensive final text is on a personalistic conceptualization of the "new international lawyer" as actors in the legal process of globalization.

The content of the book is in a working translation as follows. (16 of the essays are published in german, 5 in English)
